DRESS  CODE

Our dress code is designed to create a climate where learners are more concerned with academic            achievement than what they or their peers are wearing. Learners are expected to comply with the dress code at all times.

 

ALL STUDENTS MAY WEAR THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

Pants:                  Black, blue or khaki;

Shirts:                  Long or short sleeve shirt with or without collar - Any solid color;

                           Long or short sleeve polo shirt with or without collar - Any solid color;

Jackets:               Solid, plaid or striped - blazer type;

Outerwear:          Any color coat may be worn, but must be kept in designated areas during the day;

Vests:                  Solid, plaid or striped;

Sweaters:            Solid color sweaters including cardigans, turtle necks or sweatshirts without hoods;

Shoes:                 Black, brown or burgundy dress shoes (loafer or hushpuppy styles); Sneakers, mostly

                           white, blue or black with matching laces; Sandals and boots - Any color;

Belts:                   Must be worn if clothing has belt loops

 

GIRLS MAY ALSO WEAR THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:

Capris:                  Black, blue or khaki (before Oct. 1 and after spring break);

Skirts:                   Black, blue, khaki or plaid;

Dresses:                Black, blue, khaki or plaid;

Jumpers                Black, blue, khaki or plaid

 

STUDENTS IN GRADES K -4 MAY WEAR THE FOLLOWING:

Shorts:                  Black, blue or khaki - knee length (before Oct. 1 and after spring break)

Skorts:                  Black, blue or khaki - knee length (before Oct. 1 and after spring break)

 

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS MAY NOT BE WORN:

• Jeans          • Cargo pants            • Starter jackets           •Flip-flops, shower or swim shoes

• Hats or hoods may not be worn inside the building;

• Bandannas may not be displayed or worn in any manner;

• Oversized jewelry that is a safety hazard or distraction to the learning environment.

 

SPECIAL DAYS:

These are days set aside by the administration to allow variation in the dress code. Dates will be

announced. In addition to the regular attire, students may wear the following: jeans (no low-riders); solid, plaid, striped or printed shirts. Students may not wear T-shirts with logos. CIAA logo attire is always acceptable.
